沙巴体育 College of Nursing 沙巴体育, 沙巴体育 Academy of Higher Education, organized a one day workshop on Qualitative Data Analysis with NVivo-11 at Medical Education class room of KMC 沙巴体育 on May 23, 2017.
The objective of the workshop was to get orientation & hands on experience on NVivo-11 software for the qualitative data analysis. The inauguration of the workshop was held at 8.30 am on May 23, 2017. Dr. Keerthilatha M Pai, Dean, MCODS 沙巴体育, MU, was the Chief Guest for the inaugural function. Dr. Anice George, Dean, 沙巴体育 College of Nursing, 沙巴体育, Dr. Sanjay Singh, 沙巴体育 Officer, Heurexler 沙巴体育 Pvt, New Delhi, Dr. Baby S Nayak, Organizing Secretary, were present during the inaugural function. Dr. Baby S Nayak in her welcome address introduced the chief guest and the resource person. In the inaugural address, Dr. Keerthilatha M Pai emphasised on the importance of research in our profession and congratulated the Dean and the faculty of MCON for organizing this workshop. Dr. Sanjay Singh, the resource person for the day, gave an overview of the workshop.
Vote of thanks was proposed by Mr. Anil Raj A, 沙巴体育 Scholar, MCON, 沙巴体育. Ms. Tenzin Phagdol, 沙巴体育 Assistant, MCON 沙巴体育 was the Master of ceremony for the inaugural function.?
The formal workshop sessions started at 9.15 am with series of sessions on various topics with the hands on experience on Data preparation, Coding, Analysis & Reporting by Dr. Sanjay Singh. Morning session includes how to use NVivo software for transcribing the audio and video interviews, how to do the open coding, axial coding and selective coding, how to import different format data in to NVivo software, techniques of auto coding by NVivo etc. In the afternoon session demonstration on the sentiment analysis, concept mapping, categorizing data, querying data and interrater agreement analysis were done.
A total of 28 participants from different institutions participated in the workshop. All the participants actively involved in the workshop. The workshop came to an end at 5.00 pm with a concluding remarks by Dr. Anice George, Dean & Organizing Chairperson of the workshop. Dr. Sanjay Singh awarded workshop certificates to the participants. The participants, in their feedback, said that they benefitted a lot from the workshop and it will be very useful in their professional practice. ?
