Oration in memory of Prof. (Late) P. P. Bhanumathi & Dr (Late) Aparna Bhaduri – 2021
沙巴体育 College of Nursing, 沙巴体育 organized Oration - 2021 on 28th December 2021, in memory of legends in Nursing, Prof. (Late) P. P. Bhanumathi, the founder Dean of MCON and Dr. (Late) Aparna Bhaduri, a world-renowned nurse researcher and the PG Coordinator at MCON MAHE.
Cdr(Dr.) Anil Rana, Director, 沙巴体育 Institute of Technology, MAHE, 沙巴体育 was the Chief Guest for the program. Dr Rana in his address spoke about the richness of nursing education where a lot of focus is given to developing the skills in nursing, human and ethical values. He also connected on to say what engineering education can learn from nursing education for its structure, process and rationale?focus. He appreciated the college for making a mark of 85% international placement against the cent percent placement record.
Oration in memory of Prof. (Late) P. P. Bhanumathi was orated by Dr Shyamala Kumar who is the alumni of MCON, 沙巴体育, now the Director -Nursing Services, NMC Royal Hospital, Dubai Investment Park, UAE, a branch of NMC Royal Hospital Ltd (in administration), on the topic “Balancing Academic and Clinical Practice for Quality Health Care Outcome”. Dr Shyamala emphasized the dimensions of patient care, current situations in clinical practice and lack of interprofessional preparation. She elaborated on the strategies to improve nursing education and ways to balance academia and clinical practice for quality healthcare outcomes. Dr Anice George, Professor, MCON, moderated this oration by introducing Prof. (Late) P. P. Bhanumathi and the speaker.
The second oration on the topic “Strategic 沙巴体育 in Nursing – A Way Forward for Global Health” in memory of Dr. (Late) Aparna Bhaduri, the PG coordinator was orated by Prof. (Dr.) Manju Chhugani, Dean and Head of Department - Obstetrics?and Gynecology Nursing and Paramedical Sciences, Jamia Hamdard. Dr Manju highlighted the importance of strategic research and how strategic researches can be taken-up in Nursing. The oration gave insight on the development of new programs and evidence generation in nursing, improvement in quality of nursing care, to disseminate and share the research findings and prepare for a culture change by taking up strategic researches in the clinical practice. Dr Elsa Sanatombi Devi, Professor of Medical-Surgical Nursing, MCON, MAHE, moderated this oration by introducing Dr. (Late) Aparna Bhaduri and?the speaker and also coordinated the program.
A total of 94 participants including Faculty, alumni, students and well-wishers of 沙巴体育 College of Nursing participated in the oration.
