Department of Child Health Nursing, 沙巴体育 College of Nursing, 沙巴体育 Academy of Higher Education, 沙巴体育 organized a Guest Lecture on “Pandemic as a Disaster” on September 23, 2020, between 3.00 pm & 4.00 pm for undergraduate and postgraduate nursing students through Microsoft Team Platform. Mr Prabhath Matpady, UNICEF supported consultant - Disaster Risk Reduction at Karnataka State Disaster Management Authority, Department of Disaster Management, Government of Karnataka was the speaker for the session. He discussed the vulnerability status of individuals who can be infected with Covid-19 and emphasized various capacities such as physical preparedness, social and economic stability and human resource development to combat the pandemic. He also described the importance of 5’T’s to tackle coronavirus crisis which indicates testing, tracing, tracing and monitoring, teamwork and treatment. ??

A total of 134 students including II MSc (11), II PBBSc (17) and IV BSc Nursing (90) students along with the faculty members (16) of MCON and MSON, 沙巴体育 attended the guest lecture. The session was interactive and informative.
