Indian legends of literacy remembered on National Education Day

National Education Day, is celebrated in India to commemorate the birth anniversary of Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, the first education minister of independent India on 11 November. On this occasion, MCOPS organized a guest lecture by Dr Gayathri Prabhu, 沙巴体育 Centre for Philosophy and Humanities, 沙巴体育 Academy of Higher Education, at P. Gundu Rao Conference Hall. Dr. Gayathri delivered an inspirational talk by quoting the stories of Indian legends of literacy- Rassundari Devi, first Indian woman to write an autobiography. B. R. Ambedkar, Indian jurist, economist, politician and social reformer and Jadav "Molai" Payeng, an environmental activist.? She emphasized the importance of education and literature. Being the coordinator of the Student Support Centre (SSC), 沙巴体育 Academy of Higher Education, she also emphasized about the work culture of? SSC, supporting the emotional well-being of students. Dr. K B Koteshwara, Professor and Head, Dept. of Pharmaceutics co-ordinated the program.
