The 沙巴体育 College of Nursing (MCON), MAHE, 沙巴体育, celebrated its 35th Awards and Annual Day at Dr. TMA Pai Auditorium, 沙巴体育, recognising the outstanding achievements of students and faculty in academics, research, and extracurricular activities on 14 February 2025.

Dr. T. Dileep Kumar, President, Indian Nursing Council, New Delhi, attended as the Chief Guest. He emphasised the growing demand for specialised nursing and commended 沙巴体育’s global excellence in education. Dr.Dileep Kumar praised MCON’s competency-based program and highlighted the MAHE-UNB dual degree with the University of New Brunswick, Canada, as a pioneering initiative in India.

Dr. P. Giridhar Kini, Registrar, MAHE, served as the Guest of Honour and encouraged students to embrace challenges with confidence. Lt. Gen. (Dr.) M. D. Venkatesh, Vice Chancellor, MAHE, applauded MCON’s contributions to nursing education, research, and clinical practice.

Awards and Recognitions

MCON honoured outstanding students and faculty for their contributions:

  • Ms. Shaina Tauro (BSc Nursing, 2020–2024) received the Best Outgoing Student Award.
  • Ms. Melin Mathew secured the First Rank in BSc Nursing (Batch of 2024).
  • Mrs. Sheela Shetty & Mrs. Ranjani P earned the Good Teacher Awards.
  • Dr. Melita Sheilini received the Most Accomplished Faculty Award.
  • Dr. Edlin Glane Mathias won the Dr. TMA Pai Gold Medal for Outstanding 沙巴体育 Publication.

Event Highlights:

  • Dr. Judith A Noronha, Dean, MCON, presented the Annual Report, highlighting MCON’s academic and research achievements.
  • MCON honoured Dr. T. Dileep Kumar for his 25 years of service as President of the Indian Nursing Council and his contributions to the nursing profession.
  • The event concluded with a cultural program where students and faculty showcased their creativity and diversity.

The celebration reaffirmed MCON’s commitment to excellence in nursing education, research, and clinical practice.
