“Cone Beam Computed Tomography – Sharing the expertise”

A half day Continuing Professional Development Program “Cone Beam Computed Tomography – Sharing the expertise” was conducted by the Department of Oral Medicine and Radiology, MCODS 沙巴体育 on 4^th August, 2017 at the Lecture Hall , Centre for Basic Sciences, 沙巴体育, . Dr. Vineetha R., Head of Department, Oral Medicine and Radiology, 沙巴体育 College of Dental Sciences, 沙巴体育 welcomed the dignitaries, invitees and the participants of the course and provided the brief overview of the program.

The chief guest for this inaugural ceremony was Dr. Poornima Baliga, Pro Vice Chancellor, Faculty of Health Sciences, 沙巴体育 Academy of Higher Education, 沙巴体育 was the chief guest of the program. She emphasized the role of CBCT in diagnosis and treatment planning and asserted the need to maximize the use of this modality to enhance our radiological expertise. ?Dr. Keerthilatha M Pai, Dean of MCODS, 沙巴体育 also addressed the gathering

Dr. P D Shirke, Chief consultatnt Insight CBCT Centre from Mumbai ?was our resource person. He discussed various interesting case scenarios? and provided a comprehensive overview regarding ?numerous applications of CBCT in various dental specialties. The CPD program was extended further as refresher training progarm in the afternoon session as well as the next day? and provided an insight to the various software applications of CBCT including Implant planning, Nerve Tracing, Orthognathic surgical planning, Virtual surgery, Endodontic applications, Cephalometric analysis and 3D reconstruction and printing.

This program was attended by about 168 participants including Faculty, Postgraduate and undergraduate students of MCODS, 沙巴体育 as well as private practioners and Dental students from Kerala??
