Field Visit

Students of 沙巴体育 Law School, Bengaluru visited the Open Prison in Devanahalli. The visit was organised by the Legal Services Clinic as part of the five-day workshop titled “Prison Administration and Reforms in India: Understanding the Contemporary Challenges and Legal Framework”. The workshop sought to provide students with an introduction to the systemic problems concerning prisons in India. The workshop sessions were conducted by Advocate Basawa Prasad, a practitioner with eight years of litigation experience primarily in the field of criminal law.

Clinical legal education is a vital aspect of legal education. The Legal Services Clinic at 沙巴体育 aims to integrate students' classroom engagements with experiential learning. This visit sought to do this by giving students an opportunity to observe first-hand the status of reformative approaches to punishment.
