Dean In Charge & Professor of OBG

Dr. HC Bandhu hails from Jalandhar, Punjab. He completed schooling at Jalandhar, MBBS and MD (Obstetrics and Gynaecology) from Armed Forces Medical College, Pune. He is an ART specialist and was trained at Bombay hospital, Mumbai.

He has served Indian Army for 34 years (Army Medical Corps) in various hospitals and designations in the Armed Forces Medical Services in Combat Medicine and in the OBG specialty and superannuated on 31^st Dec 2016 as Brigadier from AFMC, Pune.

Dr. Bandhu joined this institute on 30^th April 2021 as Prof (OBG) and was Prof and Head (OBG) till 30^th Sept 2024. He also served MTMC as Associate Dean (Clinical) from 1^st August 2022 to 30^th Sept 2024.??

He is a passionate teacher and examiner for UGs, PGs (various universities and DNB) and DNB Fellowship in Reproductive Medicine. He was a UG and PG teacher at AFMC (Pune), PIMS (Jalandhar) and ANIIMS (Port Blair) prior to joining MTMC, Jamshedpur. He has guided seven PG students while serving at AFMC, Pune.

In 1990 he was awarded Sena Medal (Gallantry) in the rank of Captain by the?? President of India, while serving in the combat zone, as Regimental Medical Officer of Special Forces.

He is a keen sportsman both outdoor and indoor sports. He represented the school and college team in Hockey.? He is married to Dr Seema Dutt Bandhu, and they have a daughter Urvashi Bandhu, she has done Law (India) and Public Policy (Australia) and presently is working as Policy officer in Australia.
