The Workshop on "Understanding Knitwear: An Industry Overview and Hands-On Workshop on Developing Tech Packs" was conducted by Ms. Akshatha Hegade. Ms. Akshatha is a freelance fashion designer and an alumna of the Department of Fashion Design (Batch 2015 -2019), 沙巴体育 School of Architecture and Planning, MAHE.
The workshop was conducted for students of second-year B.Des (Fashion) ?as part of their Knitwear Studio, offering practical industry insights and hands-on experience in developing knitwear designs. The session provided insights into the evolution of knitting machines, fundamental knitting techniques, and the development of tech packs using industry-standard tools. Students explored various knitwear categories, including sportswear, lingerie, winter wear, and swimwear, while gaining hands-on experience in creating technical specification sheets.
A highlight of the workshop was the practical training in Adobe Illustrator, enhancing design efficiency and technical illustration skills. The workshop bridged the gap between theoretical knowledge and real-world application, equipping students with essential industry skills.
